The Trenton Booker Scholarship

The Reason for The Trenton Booker Scholarship Program

The increasing diversity of our society underscores the importance of providing access to higher education for all Americans. For our nation to maintain its status as a competitive global democracy in the new millennium, it is crucial that every citizen has the opportunity to pursue higher education. The future of our economy, democracy, and quality of life relies on preparing a diverse group of leaders dedicated to building a stronger society. These future leaders, often from historically underrepresented groups, need the necessary support to successfully complete their college education.

The Trenton Booker Scholarship Program was established to provide exceptional African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American, and Hispanic American students with the opportunity to pursue an undergraduate education in any field of their choice. Additionally, continuing scholars may request funding for graduate degree programs in specific disciplines, including computer science, education, engineering, library science, mathematics, public health, or science.

The amount of the scholarship award will be determined based on individual need, academic performance, and available funds. Recipients may receive up to $10,000 per year.
